Reality, comedy, oddity? Melissa Silverman has been called those things. A New York City native, she began her career at MTV, where she coaxed and goaded a bunch of virtual nobodies including Madonna, Conan O'Brien, and Britney Spears to perform for her to critical acclaim (that’s ad world critical, THE most critical). Melissa even cast a teenage Jennifer Lawrence in a promo that would grant Lawrence her SAG card (quite the favour). In her spare time, Melissa directed several field pieces for Jimmy Kimmel Live! as well as commercial campaigns for Disney, Funny Or Die, Breyers, and Starz/DIRECTV. She even found time to receive awards from the Art Director's Club, D&AD, PromaxBDA, RESfest and TELLY, and earned an Emmy nomination for her Nick Jr. campaign. Her dog Birdie, part-Pomeranian, part-Muppet wishes she spent more time at home, though that’s not gonna happen. Sorry, Birdie.
